The History of Hyperboria?

Clark Ashton Smith, one of the brotherhood of Mythos writers at Weird Tales along with REH and HPL wrote a Hyperborian cycle that took place in the tropical jungles of that era's Greenland.

His tale ends with the island being overwhelmed by the actions of a Great Old One who brings ice to cover the whole of Greenland.

Hyperboria, in the great big Mythos timeline, predates the rise of Atlantis and Mu - and by extension the Hyborian Age of REH.

If this is the case - how does the Hyperboria of the Hyborian age relate to the Hyperborian kingdom of the earlier era?

are the Hyborian Age Hyperborians the remanents of that tall white skinned ancient race that produced the dread sorceror Eibon?

(Kind of how the Cimmerians are what's left over Atlantis).

From my studies and maps (see sig), the Bori arose in situ, whereas the ice peoples (later Vanir/Aesir) came from the northwest. Both battled apes.

The Hyborian age isn't clear about much of the prehistory of the Bor though.

Personally, I like Hyborian War's kingdom report for the area..but it's probably little prehistorical help either:
