The Black eagle

Found the black eagle - sweet looking tank.

But you're going to have to be more specific on the 2nd link. It's a frames driven page so you can't easily copy and past links from the top address bar. You'd have to right-click and select properties to get the page url or post directions to get there from the menu.

look for the T92

i realy love the idea of the russian man less turrets on their tanks so far ahead of the europeans we would just never admit it.

T92 is definatly an interesting read, love the idea of the option of firing missiles or shells,, i heard years ago in berlin that thye were seen firing shots around corners on a demonstration show.

That's a pretty cool design. The turret reminds me of something out of Battletech. Since it's being made for export I suppose the PLA and MEA could use it. Check out 'Object 279". That's the weirdest looking tank I've ever seen...

hehehehe people forget that the russians have in storage tanks designed to operate under water presumably for island hopping.

why float when you can fully submerge !!!

russians have always been ahead in tank design to europe, with the development of cage armour , reactive armour and slanted armour and stealth on tanks to counteract technology.

would be interesting if some of these designs came out of mothballs for aiding europe in the future.

they evan developed tanks that were unmanned and basicly followed the path and target of manned tanks in the formation, basicly gave one tank the fire power of 3 tanks or more i guese , but if you knocked out the main tanks then i guese the unmanned tanks would be pretty useless ? who knows ! dont realy fancy going to syberia to find out lol.

Russian tanks and helos are what makes me interested in modern wargaming!, gotta love their flying tanks, and that's not just the HIND,;)

Well when you dump huge chunks of your national budget into the military instead of the infrastructure/poeple you tend to excel faster than others in that area.

other sad little bit about that is that the quality of your equipment lacks since you perfer quantity over quality.

There's nothing wrong with Russian tanks..
Well, russian tanks built for russians at least, the export and licensed ones on the other hand..

Let's see.... Autoloaders not working properly (let's just say there's a reason why the M1 Abrams doesn't have one), thermal sights malfunctioning.... a few other issues that plauged previous tanks. Sure, they might have ironed them out, but their track record isn't that good.

the thermal imagers were disfunctional in spoting their own tanks, ie they were only 30% effective whilst the abrams its only got a 5% chance of spotting the same tank on thermal imager.

and im not talking export item

o far the amount of true soviet tanks the us have reviewed ie non exsport tanks yopu can count on the thingers of a snake, they let the american view there delux exsport modles. but nothing more.

the old soviet auto loders were very effective and were reported to shot from satalite images a siccsesion of shells that dont just have the capability of going round courners, but to actualy pass the tank in question to hit it in the rear or soft area at the top of the tank.

at present russian tanks in storage are about 20 years ahead of ours, they used to 25 years ahead.

another interesting fact a mathamatician in the american army worked out the dimensions of the T90 into imperial from metric they got it so wrong the abrahm is underpowerd to take one out !!!! when it was eventualy converted back up to metric they realised the mistake, but the millitary inteligence still insist its the size first equated. !!!!

another interesting fact about russian modern tanks (non exsport) is there near invisable from the air and to camera unit, to such an extent only exsport modles so far have been seen and are used on parade in russia, due to their stealth abiliies, of course american militirary inteligence say this is impossable, when told about a major excersize in syberia involving somthing like 2,000 tanks and personel carriers, satalites managed to only pick up 3 apcs 7 t72's (engineering vehicles) and an asortment of troops and bunkers.

russian plan was to use in the first wave their emp immune tanks to break the nato line after an emp discharge, that would have knocked out every targeting sytem going bar the mark one eye ball. then would come in the main force stealth equiped tanks with low trajectories, if they managed to get hit they had reactive armour, next up would have been caged armour, then a mix then finaly disruptive mag armour, idea being what ever was thrown at them a large persentage would have got through.

russia managed to purchase several challengers and abrahm,to exsploit there dificiencies, and reported them as a minor threat, as the apothisied they could kill around 7 americn tanks per tank in the time it took them to get a single lock. Emp shells were also developed as were for desperation dirty nuke shells for tanks to fire.

The american attitude has always been Thet have the technology and quality, when in fact it was countries such as the uk and the ussr that were leading the way, alot of technology including the jet turbine were only available to the americans due to the british as the british and russians were the only ones to develop the turbine independantly. as for computers, the first home computers were designed by the british and russians with the zx81 and the russian counterpart both comming out at the same time, repotidly the russian one was slightly fster, and able to get oto the telephone exchange in moscow.

in boing if you can prove that russian technology is better than us technology, you are actualy liable to loose your job !!!

america is the new facism of the world, and thats why they still try to convince there people there the best.

in america at the moment there are around 5 bombs implanted, nukes that can be detonated by a single satalite transmition, o much for the 3 min warning !!!!

but russian never planned to invade, only america planed on an invasion, they evan planned to do it at the end of WW2 as they crossed through berlin, russia has always ben in defence and was built for defence and not attack, the only attack they would have done was to provide a defensive barrier so when europe did invade they would never get a foot on russian soil like the germans did.

it was america that convinced the world russia was an agressor, and threatened constant invasion to russia, to the extent russia was forced to spend on defence to put europe of attacking.

america has always formed a feeling of terror in its people of a country its scared of or doesnt understand, and then try to invade, they never invaded russia or china as it was to risky, if iraq had the same secret technology russia has or the military might china has would they have invaded ? no ! and thats whay russia whent broke defending them selves from an american attack.

if you were to make a fantasy game system with an army of evil, it would go around attacking smaller worlds, have tiger teath on its tanks and aircraft and have devils in its army units designations and sybols. it would beleive it was right beyond argument, it would beleive it was the best and refuse to hear otherwise, it be patriotic on the outside and have confliction and plotting on the inside......oooo i just described modern america ? what, just what if america is the most evil power in the world ? a country that has more soildiers abroad than holiday makers. a country devoted to the devil ? as money is the rout to all evil, and capatolism is powered by money and america has always said its the defender of capatolism ?

thought is food for the mind, discussion is revolution.

oooo rant over... sorry guys...

Don't tell anyone, but I heard the White House is actually a portal to another dimension that George Bush travels through where he rules as King of Thaarg. From there he can listen to the thoughts of every person in the world except those who wear plastic buckets on their head wrapped in tin foil like me.

Wow.

Here is an example of why people who play a lot of games (like myself, by the way...) need to socialize a lot. Otherwise we get wierd.

Guys like this are why I really try to avoid game conventions.

I had a very, very hard time following you there, Evil.

And I'm afraid my Russian Sources tell me they're behind in their tech level, so I'm afraid I can't really put much stock in what you've stated. Plus, I think you're a tad bit delusional... Russian never planning to invade? They had plans to wall off Pennsylvania because of the high Guns to People ratio of that state.

Also, this is what they actually had plans for when using anything nuke based:

Please note that these are in reversed order, as I can't really be bothered to put them in the proper fashion.

Also, it seems the Black Eagle will not be fielded by the Russian Army, and this is from a quote:
According to the Sauron's Creations information, this tank is being developed in cooperation with and for export to S.Korea and may even feature Korean thermal imagers. It will not be fielded with the Russian Army and seems to be entirely an initiative of Omsk Plant. It originates from the now-closed Nikolai Popov's design bureau at Leningrad Kirov Plant (LKZ) and is now developed by Alexander Morozov. The tank is built on a T-80U chassis and will borrow most of its components including FCS from T-80U. The most significant difference between the new tank and T-80 is the completely redesigned turret (at Omsk'97 a full-sized mock-up was presented). This new turret will have a larger degree of protection than the current Russian MBTs. The steep slope of forward armor plates on the turret reflects designers' desire to maximize protection from APFSDS rounds in a duel situation, when tanks fight "face to face". For additional protection, the tank is fitted with Kaktus ERA and the new Drozd-2 APS.

Heh...yeah..well, the basic gist of those pictures is an infantry assault immediately after a nuke hits the enemy position...
