That's pretty good for a D10!

I found this while browsing Wikipedia: "In 2007, British officials confirmed that an RPG-29 round penetrated the frontal explosive reactive armour (ERA) of a top-of-the-line Challenger 2 tank during an engagement in al-Amarah, Iraq." True or false? Here's the whole entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-29

All that quote says is that it penetrated, not that it stopped or destroyed the Challie....

I wish the article had a link or 2 to the actual reference it is making...

In game mechanics it could simply have hit the target number and the Challie failed to make its armour save....

Generally tanks aren't exactly in fighting condition if RPG round penetrates inside...What with all those shrapnels flying inside tank and whatnot...

The failed armour save thingie is pretty artificial system anyway so no point comparing real world events with failed armour save.

Well, according to the article the driver lost half of his left foot...

Sooooo....he's got another one and is still capable of driving.

Traget number met, save failed. That is all.

but the failed save is meant to simulate events like this.

In the August attack, which occurred during an operation to arrest a leading insurgent in the town of al-Amarah, in southern Iraq, the Challenger was damaged when a Russian-made rocket-propelled grenade, known as an RPG-29, defeated the ERA and penetrated the driver's cabin.

The RPG-29 is a much more powerful weapon than the common type regularly used by insurgents to attack British troops. It is specifically designed to penetrate tank armour, although this is the first occasion on which it has managed to damage a Challenger.

Sounds like a different weapons system from the one currently statted in the game.

But was the tank doing any more fighting straight after that? I don't think so...

Depends on if it was still under fire. You shout at the drive to keep moving and you continue to fight. If you're not under fire, you stop, evacuate the wounded, see what can be done to patch up, and return to base, Tneva.

We weren't there, but honestly, are YOU going to stop just because your drive lost half his left foot when there are people trying to kill you?
