Mongoose
Hi Guys

I am a decent painter but lack building skills on the terrain front. Can you guys post me some links to some decent scenery sites. I just want to buy them, no tutorials. I don't mind painting them or how much they cost, I just want some desert style buildings to fight over. Even better if mongoose will make some and box them up.

Cheers guys.

not buildiongs but roads and the likes this company rocks

for buildings there is a great article in one of tha wargames magazines this month on how to do this scale urban terrain, they used http://www.amera.co.uk/ and i am probably going to order a ton of it soon myself.

Cresent Root is about your best bet for prepainted terrain. There are other suggestions here:

Yup, Amera stuff looks good - very cheap too.

You could also try:

Pictors Studios blanks. Slap some textured paint and a few details on, and you have some generic Middle Eastern adobes. You could use a polystirene dome from a crafts store to make one of the square buildings into a mosque.

Crescent Root. Resin, available as pre-painted or unpainted, with metal removable roofs and doors. Expensive, but probably the best looking out there. The unpainted ones are more affordable.

CNC Workshop. Australia-based, so check the site for local pricing and distributors. These are pre-cut MDF panels that you assemble and paint yourself. Some pretty nice stuff in there - a couple of combo packs should give you a good battlefield.

Flying Tricycle. Another good source for cheap ruined building pieces. Depending on conversion rates and shipping you might get a better deal here than at Amera.

That's awesome. I HATE cutting foamcore and that's just cheap enough to be tempting.

I'm starting with unpainted Crescent Root buildings. Not a bad price and with instructions from Mark, EASY to paint.

Hovels sell a range of Middle eastern buildings that would work - they are 25mm scale but should be ok - and you can buy them painted or unpainted.

just wondering: has anyone actually ordered products from crescent root? The reason i ask is because i ordered stuff from a site recommended on these forums and havent received it. (its been over 2 months) I really like their stuff but i dont want to get the shaft again.....so to speak. thx

I've ordered from crescent root. I ordered about 7 painted buildings. I got an email stating that there was some backorder issues or something. but they still shipped quickly, were well packed, and they seemed to be a big hit at a local con where I ran a game using them.

dont forget ebay

28mm building seems to work well it seems

I just picked up a 5' x 8' Crusader Warboard from http://www.war-zone.com.

I've gotten several terrain sets from them over the years for WH40K, Ogre Minis and SST. Plus I have purchased a couple of gridless mats to lay out over it for ACTA and VAS.

Regards,
Larry
