Stealth Vs fighters

Obviously they get +1 because there within 8" but do they have to test at all? Fighters as such dont have crew quality stats usually.

yes and no. A fighter in base to base contact does not have to make a check, however a fighter say a T-Bolt sitting back to fire missiles and avoid AF fire does make a check. Crew Quality is irrelevant as against stealth it is a straight dice roll
