Starting out in ActA

I'm starting to get into ActA (ie digging out my FA miniatures for a start).

I've borrowed the old starter set off someone at my club to run it this weekend (was going to go with 5 point battle, and have assembled fleets for 5 races, the big four and Vorlons to give people choice).

I will have to get the new starter at some point as well as SFOS.

Does the new starter include the new fighter rules?
Does it update all the ships previously in the new starter?

Am I better off just getting SFOS straight away and picking it up later?

If youve got the original box starter all you need is SFoS and Armageddon to bring the rules fully up to date.

If you have either the original or Revised box sets, then buying SFOS and Armageddon will bring you up to date. As long as you have SFOS it doesn't matter which box set you have.

If however you have the ACTA Starter set book (No box, £5/$10 IIRC) then you'll need a box set to use SFOS and Armageddon.
