Just thought I'd let everybody know that we spent all day yesterday doing cross-genre playtesting of Wave 1 stuff and this is what we discovered:
Exo Suits in cover make mincemeat of the MEA...period. The MEA need that Tunguska to deal with Exos.
However, the Challenger II does a great job of dealing with Exos quite well.
What we figured out is that with current waves of minis, the SST stuff is still a bit on the "too-tough for the points" side. That being said, when the waves get a little more broad and better forces are able to be created on both sides, I think you will find good games to be had by mixing the genres after all.
And before this thread becomes a complaint-fest...play a few 750 - 1,000 point games of crossing genres a bit before you simply assume.
