How detailed are the example star port maps in this supplement?
I would like to have a good star port for a sandbox enviroment.

Thanks.
Mike

IIRC, there are no example maps. Initial installations tend to be fairly orderly, with things becoming more jumbled as the port expands, one day this way for some more warehouses, then an expansion of that for some landing pads, with things stuck where they can fit as the port grows and real estate becomes more expensive to obtain, thus leading to a haphazard organization of various zones.

The examples are near useless. No ground scale is given so size is unclear. You get 3 downports, B,D,E and 2 highports A & C. Leaves us missing 3 examples.

Myself and Middenface have recently submitted a well-thought out D-class to Mongoose, with detailed key, excellent scaled map and fully detailed explanation of buildings and use (including 'Starports' stats). It makes a perfect accompaniment for Starports, but I can't say if or where it will appear!

If they don't publish it in any form, it sounds like an excellent candidate for the MGTAids site.

I did an E port too... sat on the rather chilly world of Mithril... The one me and Mithras did is pretty hoopy !

I imagine they will put it into Signs and Portents, then the next compilation of S&P content. Speaking of which, I need to see if they have put out an S&P in the last couple of months.

The next issue is scheduled for April.

For Down Ports I sometimes use google earth images, plus the supporting maps/layouts of existing large airports. I've used Tampa International in a recent adventure. Landing starships will still come in on a glide path, thus a run-way layout. Runways don't need to be as long of course, but IMTU most down ports don't simply have a bunch of landing pads you just simply land in. You land on a designated landing strip, then are guided to your proper gate. Smaller downports tend to have the kind of layout as depicted in some episodes of Firefly, like the Eaves downport, or the old standby, Mos Eisley.
