Squinty maps

Mongoose
Maybe I'm just gettin' old, but the maps in the 2nd Age sourcebook seem really small and nearly unreadable to me.

Mongoose; would there be any chance of you guys maybe enlarging them a few times and putting them up on your site. Heck, I'd even pay a few dollars for legible maps in PDF format.

Cheers,
Soren

I would love to see a nice big map that we can put on a wall.

As I've said elsewhere before, Mongoose very kindly donated an A1-size Glorantha map to Continuum, and it looked ace. I'm sure if they did another print run (now there's their own printing works on the horizon) there'd be takers.

I would definitely be one of them, assuming they fixed the Balazar thing. Ah, heck, I would probably buy it even if they didn't.

Balazar is mentioned in the Uz book preview also - I think it has become kinda ingrained in the Second Age material.

Maybe we can rename the person Balazar to Votanki, and swap it so he took his name from the region rather than the other way around. :?

Really though, isn't this primarily Robin Laws fault? Unless MGP went and changed his manuscript to rename Votankiland to Balazar I think the problem started there. You can't really blame subsequent MGP writers for accepting what he wrote in G:tSA.

MGP can be blamed for taking death away from Humakt and pig nosed troll art and changing divine spells to spirit spells and I think even the black death, but not really the Balazar thing.

Sure they can be blamed. Some one should have checked over Robin's work for continuity, or caught the error and corrected in in a latter supplement. Or even retcon some prophecy about a futre hero whose name the region takes.

It like finding a letter dated 200 B.C.

The troll nose thing didn't bother me, neither did the newly buff broo pictures (I figured Ralzakark is making them hit the gym) but I was thrown by the lack of Sever Spirit in the Humakt write-up. Was that rune spell "death touch" or whatever it was called (my books aren't handy) intended to take the place of the Sever Spirit divine spell?

Also, I'll put in a vote for non-squinty maps as well. I don't want to strain the new lasik surgery before it is payed for.

One of the Simons was gonna sell some maps after Christmas, but nothing more has been heard since that.

Mongoose have allready heard waves of "give us maps" posts and threads, but no response have been given.

SGL.

Can I just renew my request for readable maps?

I had a look at the one for Dragon Pass from the Map Pack (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/rqmappack.zip ) and it's basically useless...

Maybe with this newfangled Zistorite printing apparatus that Moongoose is installing, we can finally get some idea of where things are.

Cheers,
Soren

You've got me worried there.

At least I don't live anywhere near Swindon, so I'll have time to flee the huge, mobile, self-aware vampiric printing press as it devours the spiritual essence of Wiltshire before setting its sight on London...

Hi All,

Mark and I have still got a few maps left from our series, however they are still in storage (Mark has been hopping back and forth between the USA and UK). Once I can locate them they will be for sale. I think we had some Dagori Inkarth, some Lunar Empire, some Heortland, Prax and Tarsh Maps left I am not sure if we have any Pavis County or Esrolia, I need to check the inventory. They will be available as soon as we can.

Sounds great. Are you going to post on here when they're for sale - if not, then where?

Are you able to commission any more maps?

I also have problems with the maps in Second Age. Not only are there names one requires a magnifng glass to read; but there are names without descriptions and descripions without names. I can live with the former but the later is troublesome. I know where Esrolia is but some people may not have been following the game for several decades.
