this came up at the wargamesworkshop tourney

i had a squadron of 2 ships shooting at a single ship which was within 4" of another 2 ships.

i killed the enemy ship using just 1 of my ships.

Question: What happens to the firepower from my 2nd ship?

a) keep blasting away at original target to make it explode - which was my intention, thinking that shooting happens at the same time for squadrons.

b) allocate fresh target - if i can't shoot that ship as its dead surely target reallocation should happen instead of not being able to fire.

A - it keeps blasting (this all happens at the same time).

If you allocated both ships to fire all their weapons at the one target then they are assumed to be firing pretty much simultaneously. Even if one ship killed the target the second would count as having fired at it too.
