Do the Gorn not have a Squadron set?

Also I noticed that the Romulans and Klingons have two different Squadron Sets, will the other Races get 2 Squadron Set, as well?

In case anyone is curious about the contents of the forthcoming Squadron boxes, check HERE!

I spoke to Steve and Leanna today about the difficulties the ACTA players who are unfamilar with Fed Comm releases were having finding the info about the different Squadron boxes and they set-up a separate section of thier web storefront listing just the Squadron boxes and contents.

There are three things to remember about these boxes:
1) They were designed to match the way the ships / counters were released in Federation Commander, not ACTA, so the contents may seem a bit strange to one who's trying to build a fleet for ACTA: SF; as may the order in which they are being released for ACTA.
2) The info probably says Starline 2400 in the description, but the Starline 2500 squadron boxes will match the contents ofthe Starline 2400 boxes.
3) The decision to match contents was made to prevent havign an entirely new set of SKU numbers for vendors, distributers, and merchants to deal with. They dislike extended ranges of SKUs to track.

Not strange, anti miniature gamer. They use the logic of a collector vice a wargamer by assuming that you will need to own one of everything in the set instead of the reality that you will want to buy ships based on their being usable. It makes perfect sense with SFB and FC, they were boardgames first with mini's being just a add on for color. Mini's were just extra and 90% of the people I know who still play it (SFB/FC) don't use mini's anyway.

But for a pure miniatures game it will actually drive away people. Miniature gamers don't just buy figure willy nilly on the off chance they may use them someday. Mini's cost money. And at $15 a crack, the 2500's are not cheap. The way things stand you can only buy one Fleet and one Squadron box. After that you will be stuck with 'useless' extras you can't get rid of. Each $15 dollar dreadnought gathering dust on the shelf is $15 dollars ripped off out of my wallet that I could have spent on a figure I actually need. Just how many Dreadnoughts do you need? One, maybe two.

The marketing logic is basically like this, imagine buying tires for the car.
You can buy 4 15" tires plus 1 16" tire as a set for $400 or you can buy 4 individual 15" tires for $500. What a bargain, except for the stack of 16" tires I can't use or get rid of.

Oh well, it looks like deja vue all over again. Got people interested in FC, but they didn't like the game unless there were mini's. Then they discovered the weird packaging and mini count, sqd boxes that were not sqd's, etc. And they all dropped out to play WH and Warmachine.

I hope the Fleet Boxes will somehow over shadow the Sqd Box content. But I have a feeling I will be the only one owning fleets yet again

I think the Starline 2500 version of the FedCom squadron boxes is a neat idea, but I do not like the idea of being stuck with extra dreadnoughts. If I buy a Fed Fleet box I'll already have a DN and two BCHs, but if I want to pick up some NCLs, NCAs, and DWs, the squadron box with those has another BCH and a DN... I'd rather it be another DW and NCL, honestly. :?

The best squadron box currently listed, IMO, is the Klingon vs Orion one. Two Klingon cruisers and a frigate and two Orion light raiders and a salvage cruiser. No heavies, just frigates and cruisers, very nice.

I posted a suggestion for a reinforcements squadron that ditched the DN and BC from each fleet in favour of three more light ships, so Klingons would be D7, D6, 2 F5, 2 E4. If you go onto the next page you can find the thread, it got a mixed response.
