Spliting influence rewards

I'm going to give my players influence reward for their latest accomplishment.

I've established that the one worth 5 points is appropriate from the description ("significant help" or something like that) but I wonder how to deal with the fact that they're a group. Do I give 5 points to each? That's an awful lot of influence! Do I split it between the 3 of them? That makes 2 points each which is kind of pointless especially since the influence was already going to be split between two sources…

How do you deal with that?

Generally I give them all the same influence rewards. It hasn't proved problematic, and since the campaign rewards tend to be in different areas each time, they only really shine in the areas they work on with their level-based influence. +5 to each seems like a lot, but unless they get more from this source a few more times it will only be big if they keep working on it with their own influence purchases, which I gather is the point of granting influence each level.

Looking at it in character says you shouldn't split it either. Influence represents your pull with a group because of things you have done to earn the clout. If you did a huge favor and earned 5 points, the three people in the group who did it should all have an equal pull and name recognition. It wouldn't make sense to do a huge favor and then tell the group who did it "We appreciate it, but there are three of you, so we only like each of you a little bit. If there had only been one of you, wow, we'd really love him, but three of you only get a little help."
