Spirit combat

So it struck me... spirit combat, rather than pummeling each other with swords, why not just use the system in place for the Exorcism divine spell ?

Opposed persistence rolls (spend a MP at +10 to one roll), untill one has accumulated successes equal to opponents POW.


Any reason not to, that Im missing ?
 
My RQ3 group has used a highly modified spirit combat rules set that has worked very well for us; could be adapted for MRQ easily enough (although would work better if one brings back Special Successes as <1/5 skill):
