Some General Campaign Questions

Does everyone else know what refits each of your ships have or is that information kept private(meaning you roll it with other people around but if they dont keep track of what your ships have do you have to tell them if they ask?)

And also do the Narn and the EA have to tell everyone before the scenario starts what kind of E-mines or Missle warheads are equipped on there ships?

And Finally is the status of your ships during a scenario (remaining damage and crew plus criticals) know by your opponent if they ask or is it up to you to keep track of how much you have damaged their ships?

As a matter of sportsmanship I'd always tell anyone who asked those questions.
If you want to keep it secret then make sure an independent third party is witness, to prevent you from cheating!

And thats what I do if they ask as well, I was just checking to see if it is required to tell or just up to the person if he wants to tell them.

What i would like to know is this. If you spend your exp points and roll on the refit table, and you roll and 11 for the "Extra Hangars" refit, is it ok to throw a tantrum, cry, scream and/or shove a dice up one of the other players noses? just curious.....

:?:

Nope, you lose XP dice for that kind of behaviour, also any whinging rights you had get revoked

So more questions have come up for a campaign.

In a planetary assault are the patrol boats that the defender gets the civilian patrol boats or patrol level choices?

And how do other people generally handle recon runs scenarios? Fleets that have minimal lower PL ships are generally screwed if the scenario ends after all defending ships are scanned. This scenario seems pretty hard for any defender anyway.

And finally what happens when scenarios end in a draw (like in a planetary assault, where it is possible)? My group figures that the defender keeps the Strategic Target but doesnt get the 5RR bonus since he didnt win the fight. Is that correct or are we doing it wrong?

They'll just be the generic civilian patrol boats rather than a Patrol Level choice.

It really depends what fleet you're using. I use long-range missile or beam ships backed up with fighter wings when defending in this scenario. At lower PLs go for fast ships like the Vorchan or Torotha using the All Power To Engines SA to chase down the recon ships before they scan too many of your vessels. Most players seem to take scouts or fast low PL ships to scout with which aren't too hard to kill with fighters and long-range weapons systems.

If a scenario ends in a draw the Strategic Target remains in the original owner's hands but he doesn't get the 5RR for winning. If nobody owned the target it stays neutral.

I'd say that you had to declare damage etc. when asked during a game (ships should be able to detect that, as shown frequently on the programme) but refits and warheads could be kept secret until they are used as long as you had a note of them on the ship's record.

When rolling for refits and duties it's best to have a neutral party present to prevent arguments later :) .Or roll them with everyone present. It just depends on how your group prefers it, there isn't any official ruling that I'm aware of for this.

Our campaign organizer witnesses all the refit/duties chart with nobody else around. And he keeps records of everyones ships/damage/refits/resources.
