Slow drug to replace sleep?

Greetings,
Silly shower-thought: can slow drug be used to replace regular sleep? At 30 times normal metabolism, 15 minutes of slow-induced rest could equal a full night’s sleep, assuming proper facilities and if the body actually rests during this time... so, would it work?

I’m not thinking permanently, but for those emergencies when for example the entire crew of a warship needs to stay alert for an extended period of time. They could rotate through the medbay for quick naps and downtime would be kept to a minimum, kinda like the sleep machines from Judge Dredd.

Thoughts?

I don't think so.

While I'm not acquainted with the dynamics of slowed biology, I would suspect that the stress involved would counter act any rest.

Sleep is what, flushing out toxins and databasing memories?

Inclined to agree that micro-dosing Slow Drug would not work as expected.

But it’s a fair question. By TL12 there must be something that addresses this. Probably it’s addictive thus a black market drug. Roll Streetwise, modified by Law Level, to find 1D+Streetwise doses available. Then roll for quality

If it’s restricted military grade, the PC musters out with addiction akin to anagathics rules. Much less expensive but no less damaging. Whether or not the military helps the vets it strung out is up to you

You stimulate the metabolism to perform substantially faster.

I sort of suspect you also need to train in order to take advantage of these speeded up reflexes.
