Signs & Portents Roleplayer - 51

Mongoose
Despite the recent Conan galore (Return to RoK last week and Player's Guide next one), it seems like there's no Conan stuff in S&P51. Seems like we can't have it all... Anyway, I was bemused by the announcement on the cover (the world's strangest Conan advertisement), but I didn't found anything about it inside. Very strange advertisement indeed...

No new news for Conan in 2008 either in the State of Mongoose article from Matt. That was disappointing.

That is a strange ad for Conan 2e.

At least, we now the range of regional sourcebooks will be expanded and I am proud that one of my ideas will be developped (cities of the Hyborian continent) 8)

Apart from:
We’ll be continuing our march across the kingdoms of the Hyborian Age, exploring each in turn – these have always been our most popular books in the Conan range. However, we also want to make actually playing Conan easier too. Ruins of Hyboria was extremely well received, so a number of follow ups have been planned, such as Cities of Hyboria, providing jump-offs and one-shots for the beleaguered Games Master. If you are looking for something with more bite, then Conan will also be getting a new full blown campaign every year, starting with Bryan Steele’s Trial of Blood.

and a potential product for the year after.

My apologies, I didn't realise it was old news! :) Was there anything you hoped for other than the continuation of game as it is?

Hey Greg! Good point on the continuation of the game - that is always good news compared to the alternative.

Also, I'm looking forward to the announced projects, just nothing new for those of us who hang around these boards too much.

I was hoping for some news on the Age of Conan miniatures game that was shelved. I see great potential to tie it in to the RPG.
I think the 'Goose should make a new GM screen, maybe a line up of Conan pre-painted minis for the RPG, some new supplements like Turan, Acheron and Khitai , a mercenary/military campaign, Conan 2e & the Bestiary book in pocket sized editions, a Kull era supp, maybe some 2 player modules where the Player can play as Conan, announcement of a new Conan RPG contest, etc, etc., etc.

I could go on & on!

Yes, I would buy them all, even if I had to sell my own mother into slavery to get the money...

miniatures and rules for mass combat to go with them(or use the already exsisting ones) would be cool but theres two things that would make it or break it for me.

1) do not make it collectable, there is nothing more annoying than wanting to get some bowmen and instead getting horsemen or some such like that.

2) pre painted. i would prefer it not to be pre painted as i like painting miniatures myself, im a warhammer fan. however if they do i suppose i could deal with it aslong as they arent collectable like the crappy wotc stuff.

Unfortunately, I don't have time anymore for miniature painting. I'd rather prepainted stuff (like Mongoose Battlefield range).

Why do I keep reading "However, we also want to make actually playing Conan easier too." as "Prepare for 4E compatible Conan ?

W.
