Ship Explosions

When a ship is destroyed and on the damage chart a 10+ is rolled, is the explosion DD or anything? Im guessing it is just suppose to be minor damage but after having a couple ships explode on me and rolling the full 10AD for it is did very little damage to the ships near it.
I dont have a problem if it is just regular damage I just want to be sure.

Also do ships with the dodge ability have a chance to dodge the explosion or are they automatically caught up in the explosion if they are within 4". I ruled that they could dodge since it doesnt explicitly say it cant dodge like it states under the Energy Mine. Is that correct or was I doing that wrong?

Yes its just 10AD.

Yes you can dodge explosions.

The ad is determined by either half the startign damage of the ship exploding or 10 which ever is lower.It deals normal damage and can be dodged.

But dodging is all that you can do. Interceptors and Stealth dont count.

No way a Minbari can sweettalk his way out of that ^^.
