Shargoti class warcruiser

Mongoose
I asked a friend who happens to be a modeler to make me an upscaled Sharlin. Quite a bit bigger than MGP models, as it will represent the Shargoti class Black Star as seen in "The Beginning". I know some dismiss the class name as fanon, but B5 is a fiction anyway and I just gotta have the Black Star in my fleet.

Here's what we've come up with so far:

Materials used include epoxy resin, cotton bud stems, wires, toothpicks, and plastic cards. Feedback and ideas on how to further improve her will be most appreciated...

Also, feel free to discuss and tinker with possible stats.

Thanks... m(_ _)m

Looks excellent.

Would like to see it against a Sharlin for scale.

I am working on a Minbari ship I can use for a Neroon, (until we get the Mongoose / Iron Wind one). One piece I have included, which would look good on your model, is the main laser array type thingy situated on the front near the top of the main hull section on the Sharlin, don't know the name for it. The laser you see a Sharlin firing in close up in "Third Space". easy to make from green stuff.

Well, he's good at what he does.. Anyone here has any ideas on how to make the surface more even? Particularly on the curvy areas?

How solid is the model? Could fine sand paper do the job? might take awhile and some patience but if it sandable it might be an option.

Agree fine sandpaper is best on resin, avoid breathing the dust however.

Resin is also very easy to sand, but on curves like that it is not a job to rush.

I know what you speak of. He found the piece hard to make, so we thought we'd leave it out until the final stage.

As for size, it's about 12 cm long... we live in different cities, so he doesn't have an MGP Sharlin at hand. I've seen this model in the flesh only once.

As for sanding... well, he might still be doing it right now... ^_^
I figure I should ask around in case there's a quicker or more reliable way.

Coming from you Herr Urobach, it means a lot. m(_ _)m

Since it's a work in progress, any suggestions for my friend? To make it even better?

Thats awesome dude. I second the call to see it next to a stock sharlin, it would be groovy to see how much of a beast it is.
