Shadow Refit Tables

On the SFOS shadows refit table (personalities, etc) the Evasive personality states that the "Shadow vessel may move as if it had the Super Manoeuvrable trait at up to 150% of its Speed in a turn."

I'm not even sure where to begin to explain the confusion... Does this mean that the shadow ship normally isn't SM when it gets the Urgent personality and gets extra speed? Does this mean that it can do the 90degree turn and move at 150% speed SM rather then 200% Speed in a straight line? Is it just a blatantly incorrect entry, because I thought the shadows were always Super Manoeuvrable barring their double-time movement?

Did the Personality Refit table get updated with Arma?

Shadows can either make a normal move and be SM, or double move in a straight line.
This option, if I intrepret correctly, allows them to retain the SM trait while moving 1.5x normal...?

That was my default view, but then I noticed they have the Urgent which adds a +1 to speed (Max 150% original). But even assuming that if it has Urgent but not Evasive.. how would it default to a non-SM movement when that's it's base movement?

No , the Vorlon & Shadow fleet list in Armageddon do not contain the Refit tables.

If i understood the refit correct it will work this way :

Shadow vessel "Bob" with movement 6

without the refit
move with normal Shadow move = SM like fighter and 6 move
move with Shadow-Super-SM (TM) = 1x 90° at start of move and up to 12 ( 6+6 ) move

with the refit
move with normal Shadow = SM like fighter and 6 move
move with Shadow-Super-SM (TM) = 1x 90° at start of move and up to 15 ( 6+9 ) move

Hope this helps :D

So that's stating that it's an enhanced "Superb Manoeuvrability"? That makes sense to treat it as such and I'll probably field it that way until officially contradicted, but the wording implies something else is going on.

I read it as:

with the refit
move with normal Shadow = SM like fighter and 9 move
move with Shadow-Super-SM (TM) = 1x 90° at start of move and up to 12 ( 6+6 ) move

For the sake of defining what I'm asking about.

Superb Manoeuvrability: Shadow vessels .... may either use the normal Super-Manoeuvrability rules or may instead turn up to 90 (degrees) at the start of its movement and then move up to twice it's Speed in a straight line.

Evasive: A Shadow vessel may move as if it had the Super Manoeuvrable trait at up to 150% of its Speed in a turn.

with the refit
move with normal Shadow = SM like fighter and 9 move
move with Shadow-Super-SM (TM) = 1x 90° at start of move and up to 12 ( 6+6 ) move

As Greg is a playtester i would assume this is the correct way to use the Refit.
But i think the Refit decription could be just a little bit clearer

@Greg
Thanks for clarification Greg !

I would assume that both stack.

The Urgent Refit upgrades the movement stat while the Evasive Refit add the "improved SM" abilitiy based on the movement stat.

Like ...

6 Long Range Targeting Systems: Choose one weapon system. It has its range extended by 50%. However, when
using this extra range, halve the number of AD used (rounding down).
7 Additional Arrays Fitted: Choose one Twin Particle Array weapon system. It gains an additional 2 AD. This may
only be applied once per weapon system.

... both Refit could be applied without negating each other.

Hrmmm... so;
Shadow Ship (base) = Speed 6, SM Boost = 12
Shadow Ship (Urgent) = Speed 7, SM Boost = 12
Shadow Ship (Urgent + Evasive) = Speed 7, SM Boost 14
:?:

More something like ...

Shadow Ship (base) = Speed 6; SM move 6 (100% of speed); Boost 12 (6+6)
Shadow Ship (Evasie) = Speed 6 ; SM move 9 (150% of speed); Boost 12 (6+6)
Shadow Ship (Urgent) = Speed 7 ; SM move 7 (100% of speed); Boost = 14 (7+7)
Shadow Ship (Urgent + Evasive) = Speed 7 ; SM move 10,5 (150% of speed); Boost 14 (7+7)

Superb Maneuverability
: Shadow vessels are supremely agile at slow speeds but it is still
important to keep track of their heading. Instead of using the normal SM rules, a Shadow
vessel may instead turn up to 90° at the start of its movement and then move twice its Speed
in a straight line.

Evasive: Shadow vessel may move as if it had the Super Manoeuvrable trait at up to 150% of its Speed in a turn.

if Urgent modifies the base movement, I'd assume this doubles for the straight line movement as well:

type\SM speed limit\straight speed limit
normal\6\12
urgent\7\14
evasive\9\12
urgent+evasive\10.5\14
