Irashaine1972,
Here take my wallet AND my bank account just phuleaze give me a pile of your barell-o-monkey junk!
Seriously amazes me. So if you like this stuff and want to get behind it so be it. Doesnt change the fact that the sculpts are just terrible made worse because the casting process is obviously not high standard. I con cede that the wave 2 pics are better painting than the wave ones but still not great. In all honesty I have no interest in the game anyway. But I DO collect SST and love the models. I have done thousands of GW models in my day(20 years worth) and have seen them evolve for along time and the SST stuff is in many cases just as good. I happen to think the exosuits are outstanding miniatures. This stuff is simply mass marketed mass produced instant gratification. MGP is simply trying to get a cut of the pre-painted craze. Sad. When the CCG craze began how many companies jumped on it and how many CCGs no longer exhist some taking the companies with them? More than I care to remember. So it will be with the mini market I imagine. Really good miniature game companies with a good line of figs have the potential to stay around for years and decades. MGP has/had a great line of miniatures and wargames with a small(compared to some) but dedicated following. Now they are dumping all of that for THIS???? I can buy so much great miniature gaming product for the money. While I dont care about this game anyway I DO love SST but this is the sign of whats to come and I am definetly NOT buying SST in this format. When this craze dies down and people lose interest in it because hobbywise it has no substance then where will they stand? Whats the long term here? Devoted gamers and hobbyists who will and regularly DO pay top dollar for models simply because they can participate in there hobby alone when they are not gaming or the quick fix pie in the sky? I mean lets be real here. Rakahm has both bases covered at this point. Their HUGE popular COnfrontation line (people were going crazy over these things from day one when they could only order directly from europe and had to wait 6+ months just to get their orders). And they have their pre-paint line now. Seems like the smarter decision. Oh well...............thats my opinion.
Great (Note Sarcasm), regurgitation of the "Hobby" Argument of the EE. . . .
Unfortunately not a valid argument from many peoples' viewpoint.
I am not currently interested in BF Evo, however Rackham has pretty but pain in the butt to assemble figs.
Pre painted or not is a very personal choice for each Game Playing Consumer.
Your decision not to purchase is your choice.
To equate MGPs products with Barrel 'O Mankeys is a poor metaphor, and inaccurate as well.
I can paint better, yes but many players cannot, or do not, or will not paint any better than the prepaints of either wave.
I have played mostly far worse painted figures and armies over many years, over 80 per cent of the armies I have played against at local stores and even in tournaments, are of far lesser quality.
For this reason (over 40 years of game playing, and as an ex-Outrider for GW {16 years}) and many others: I feel your criticism is overly harsh and inaccurate. Casting process?? (Injection molded plastic, not cast metal or plastic)
As I said before, it is completely your right to purchase what you wish to purchase.
I myself am currently concentrating on WW II historicals via Flames of War.
Enjoy whatever you choose to do.
I could go through and refute your statements line by line, but too many on this forum become offended by the application of logic to illogical statements and I do not choose to start an argument over figures that I haven't seen more than one or two of.
