Second Ed testers?

Just was wondering how one became a tester for the new version. I was always interested in that sort of thing. Any ideas on how or if it is possible one does become a beta tester.

The current beta testers were nominated by the rest of us scrubs. I'm not sure how many there are but I get the impression 8-10 internationally (US and UK).

I'm confident that with the current crop of competent playtesters 2nd Edition will be an airtight masterpiece

. OK maybe not airtight but certainly an upgrade.

We'd probably be better off calling you all test Team Leads, right? Several of you have support groups that you playtest with, I'm betting.

This means that the total playtest community might be substantially larger -- a very good thing!

Will the 2e be like a complete rule book?

It seems that every time I buy something it is just an update, which means I am missing the BASIC rules and I am flipping through a bunch of books.

Second edition will be a single rulebook with a single fleet book (with every fleet in it) - exactly as the boxed set is!

The initial five were voted by people off this message board. Two more were added internationally after more consultations with Matt. Finally three more from the UK were added after discussing opinions with Matt at various Mongoose events and on the forums and showing a consistant strong performance in tournaments to give a slightly different slant on the latest three.
