Say something nice about Armageddon or ACTA in general

Ok over the last week Ive noticed more flames starting up on this forum than I'd seen in the previous year, so I had an idea to have a 'nice' thread start up :)

Say one thing you like in Armageddon, or the game in general as it stands currently!

Please dont post a big list, just one item, and PLEASE no 'I cant think of anything, x, y or z sucks too much' or 'I like x but y......' posts. Theres plenty of whining in other posts to go around

I'll go first: I really like the Marathon, its a good ship ruleswise and I like the miniature too. And its not even very expensive :D

I actuallt like the way they have split the EA fleets up, seems much more realistic, though each era could have dxne with a few mroe ships.

Second the love of the Marathon CRUSADE FTW!!!!! :D :D :D

I can honestly say I have never had any problem playing ACtA right from the beginning. No ship, fleet, nor scenario has given me more difficulty than simply disagreeing on HOW something has been done. I've never tried to break the game, so I've never found it, or any part of it, 'broken'.

Surely this is a playtesters job???

Anyway back on topic... I like ACTA because it is simple to learn, yet difficult to master :D

Oh, some of the unpublished stuff has been seriously screwed (like the Armageddon Shadow Ship with the Anti-Fighter Beam... watch those Whitestars go POP!), but of the published stuff, it all worked fine for me.

I do like above all two aspects of ACTA: the critical and filmic emotions in the critical hits and the realistic and playable movement rules...

I still can´t see the armaggedon so I can´t tell...

I agree. I think the game's certianly been improved with every new iteration of rules (SFOS fighters excepted. they needed a drop in power, but that was a bit too much), I see a lot of people complaining about broken races and ships and what have you, but my battles are almost always close to the line, even playing early EA vs minbari. and i can't wait to try out some of the new toys from Armageddeon.

ACTA revitalised my interest in Babylon 5. I love playing this game, I won a tourney, I get to playtest it and write scenarios for S&P.

I like ACtA's speed of play, the fact it's brought all my old B5W minis back into use, the number of ships that a player can control, and the Campaign system (probably the stand-out feature of the game, for me).

The book is the perfect size and weight for throwing at newbie packing staff who don't put apology notes in when shorting items on customer orders... Just enough to get a loud "OW", but not enough to do any real damage (unless the corner hits them in the eye)

The game in general merges a great setting with a good core 'rules philosophy'.

I also like games with Campaign Rules built in.

Being able to use variants in tournaments is great. It gives much more options for fleet selection. The Minbari tournament list was pretty restricting, it was all about Tinashi, Leshath and Tigara... but now, there is a wide selection.
