Rune Quest II

I think you find most on this forum. What specifically are you looking for?

some stuff to get you started:

1. There's the wiki. You can access it through the sticky thread on this forum.
2. There's some blogs... take a search and you will probably find a thread naming them.

Okay, there's a lot of threads around here on the forum. What setting do you play in or prefer? Most of the house rules and fan made rules are setting specific.

For example, I can refer you to my signature below where I link to the Eberron (Eberron is an original d&d steampunk world) conversion I have created - but if you're currently looking for mythical and dark-age settings, then you probably won't really care.

Are you looking for MRQII or the original Chaosium/Avalon Hill RQ2 stuff. That stuff is different- but there are still a lot of links for the stuff at the Wiki.

I'm actually participating in an Avalon Hill version RQ2 (3?) game online and it is lots of fun (and a big nostalgia shot!).

But honestly, playing it really brings home what a spectacular job Pete and Loz did with the rules update. Just phenomenal. I can not thank those guys enough for delivering such an awesome system.

yeah i have your eberon pdf which i thinks great . im planing on doing a dragon lance game so been looking around to see how people handle different things . like unipue races like your war forged and so forth

Another book that might be worth looking into if you are going the dragonlance rout might be "Wraith Recon"

Good stuff in there, and much more DnD in its approach.

For what it's worth, this (from memory) is how I did the Bazz Draconians from DL1 back in the day updated for RQII. It sort of shows how easy it is to take a D&D like critter and translate it to RQ. This primarily uses the Goblin's characteristics with a variation on the Gargoyle's Hit Locations. Note though that this is from the original DL modules (AD&D2?) so might not correspond to however they were updated for later D&D/d20.

STR 2D6+3 (10), CON 3D6 (11), SIZ 2D6+3 (10), INT 3D6 (11), POW 2D6+3 (10), DEX 2D6+6 (13), CHA 2D6 (7)
1–3 Right Leg 2/5
4–6 Left Leg 2/5

Attributes: SR (12) 10, CA 2, Damage -1D2, Move 8m/12m (gliding), Magic Points 10

Armour (Penalty -2): Scaly hide (1AP everywhere but wings), Soft leather (1AP, limbs), Studded Leather (2AP, body and head)

Traits: Glide, petrifaction

Skills: Athletics 53%, Brawn 30%, Evade 56%, First Aid 24%, Influence 14%, Insight 21%, Perception 51%, Persistence 40%, Resilience 42%, Ride 23%, Stealth 54%, Disguise 48%, Survival 51%,

Combat Styles: Spear & Shield 53%, Sword & Shield 53%, Thrown Spear 46%, Unarmed 43%

Weapons: Shortspear (M/L 1D8+1 4/5), Shortsword (M/S, 1D6, 6/8), Target Shield (L/S, 1D6, 4/12), Claws (S/T 1D4+1), Thrown shortspear (L/-, 1D8+1, -/25m)

Equipment: 2 Shortspears, Shortsword, Target Shield, 1D10 Silvers

Petrification. If a Baaz draconian receives a major wound to a vital location it instantly turns to stone (8 APs) for a period of 1D8 Combat Rounds before crumbling and dying. Any attack which causes a major wound to a vital location risks getting the weapon stuck. The attacker must succeed at an Easy (+20%) Evade skill test or the weapon gets stuck until the draconian crumbles. Any Impale causing a major wound this way will automatically get stuck.

Tangential but
RQ1 - Chaosium
RQ2 - Chaosium (and printed under licence in the UK by Games Workshop)
RQ3 - Avalon Hill (and printed under licence in the UK by Games Workshop)
RQ4:Adventures in Glorantha - Avalon Hill, unpublished , though playtest copies have been available on the internet (though never "officially" afaik)
RQ:Slayers - Avalon Hill, unpublished although later released on the internet by the authors. Largely unrelated to other RQ games in terms of rules and/or settings

to try and bring some relevance to the original question:-
Fan Sites/resources for these earlier iterations of the rules (or for the (open source) MRQ1 or Chaosium's Basic Roleplaying (and their other games that are based on it - Call of Cthulhu, Elric!/Stormbringer, Elfquest, Ringworld, Worlds of Wonder) may not be 100% compatible with MRQ2/Legend, but should be fairly close and relatively easy to convert (depending, obviously on exactly what you want to convert!) - If it's a site you can provide links to, you can always ask for help here anyway!
