RQII Games Master's Handbook?

Hello!

New to the Forums, recently rediscovered this new incarnation of RQ after remembering the game as one of my fondest gaming memories from growing up in the 80's ( telling my age a bit)

I'm wondering if there has been any word of a possible release date for an updated Game Master's Handbook, or if there are even plans to produce one.

The archetype, premade NPC's for random encounters and henchmen fodder are invaluable in my plans for various scenarios.

Any answers are appreciated.

Sin-cerely,
Kyle

Aaah, the 80s. Great times for ridiculous RPGing with my teenage friends. I'm OLD(ish) too. Villains and Vigilantes, (old skool)Traveler, D&D...

I haven't heard of any plans for a Game Master book, though they will be putting out Monster Coliseum with monster fodder and some Campaign environments, such as Golrantha and Deus Vult.

Those of us running our own worlds (like me) won't be benefited tremendously by these releases. It'd be nice if someone started a custom RQII character, henchmen, and monster vault online. If only I had infinite time...

There won't be an updated GMs' Handbook...

The old version offered alternative rules and a variety of options to aid GMs, but many of these found their way into the new game. In my opinion, there's not much need for a new edition of the Games Masters' Guide, but you never know what might turn up.

Hurray!

I'd forgotten, until I saw this, that one of the things that originally drew me to RQ back in the day was everything was in one book. Thanks for continuing to make that so.

And yes, I know that there will be more books, and I'm looking forward to them. But still, you can just buy the core MRQII book and get going.

I second that. Having a source of "101 Characters" for quick NPCs (or pregenerated PCs) would be a great help. We have the old GM Handbook stats, and the terrific Young Kingdoms Digest article from S&P #51 (for Elric, but I don't run in Glorantha anyway); something like this for the new rules would be terrific.

Though I never saw the original GM's Handbook for MRQ1, I'd like to third this suggestion. A "101 Characters" supplement to MRQ2 would be an invaluable GMing aide (at least for me).
