RQ Players Guide - do I need it?

Hello,

Now I have a large collection of Glrantha books and RQ Deluxe - do I neet the Gloranth players guide to create characters?

What about shamans / spirit magic?

If you don't have it, how have you managed?

The player's handbook is not a need, but it is a great resource. It has backgrounds, professions, spells, legendary abilities, and equipment specific to all the major cultures in glorantha.

Shaman/spirit magic is covers in cults 2.

IMHO

The Players Guide to Glorantha is the "missing link" between Glorantha - The Secong Age - the world description - and RuneQuest - the game system.

It is VERY useful. [/i]

Thanks. I've plenty to work through before I need to create lots of characters. ANd I need to raise more cash before I can buy anything else

Selling OTHER (non-RQ stuff) RPG stuff on ebay has always helped to raise my budget for REAL RPG books (RQ and other BRP games). ;-)

I sell stuff for The Chaos Society on eBay (as well as on our webshop at www.tradetalk.de ).
AND i sell stuff on my private account... some times gloranthan items that i have more than one time in my collection, but most often Cthulhu items (i have a LOT of Cthulhu stuff, and a lot of them more than one time), and books of other RPG systems that i don´t need any more.

Let me guess... Das Schwarze Auge may be? Though I would be surprised, it's by far the best German RPG

Sorry, but i quit playing THAT game system 1988!
And maybe it is the most successful german RPG system, but there are a lot better ones that that one.

Odd that you say that as the mythology there is very well developped even if it doesn't have the same scope as Glorantha.
