Request to mongoose boys

Mr Evil

Mongoose
hi im sure some would also agree with me here

as for the slight delay on the rule book and our eagerness to buy minis, can we have a preview from the main book on how to organise our forces. or atleast a guid from one of the mongoose guys on how.

ie how many tanks can the pla take in 2k ? or how many per troops, anything that would help us buy wave 1 to its maxim so we can then plan towards wave 2 and 3, as it is, i have 4 pla 99 tansk for all i know thats way to many to ever feild in a 2k game, but if i can have 5 then bam il buy a 5th, for example.

many thanks

MR E

Matt covered this on the day. However here it is -

2 squads for minimum legal platoon.

1 armour option (ie tank) per 2 squads

1 transport option per squad (ie APC, Warrior)

1 support option per squad (ie snipers)

1 aircraft per 1500 points

1 command option per platoon

However there will be options for tank platoons, so you can have a 4 tank PLA platoon plus a mechanised infantry platoon.

be nice to have it in print though

see i have 3 challengers so now one of them is redundant :(

i used the pic on the site as a guide, they had 4 inf units and 3 tanks so i presumed from that that max one tank per inf squad.

hmmph

spose it gives me a mechanised possability in future.

Play bigger

SST rules worked nicely on bigger battles and since BF:Evo has even more expensive units(tanks) and cleaner rules I can see even bigger battles working easily.

true will require more troops though !!!!!

Well. Your brits will probably thank you if you add SAS section or two to your forces  And I'm sure Mongoose releases something nice for PLA later as well

And as mentioned there has been mention of tank platoons as well. That's platoon for me  Tanks, tanks, some more tanks and if enemy is still alive bring some more tanks. Mwahaha!

Every box set, underneath the title of the unit it contains, marks whether the unit is Squad, Armour, Command, etc. . .

So at present there is no command for the USMC?

Hmm, I'm a little light on squads then, 4 squads, 2 Challengers, a Warrior and the command Unit. Unless it's 1 tank per 2 squads and 1 transpoert per squad i.e. 2 squads plus 1 Challenger + 2 Warriors is OK.

that's fine under the infantry platoon list - 4 squads means you can take 2 tanks, 4 transports, 4 support units and one command section.

Ah, you have access to these rules then Lorcan, thank you.

I see now it is indeed a cumulative option list, not an either or.

Excellent, I need more Warriors. ANd a Lynx, AND some SAS

I get how many tanks you can field per squad in an infantry platoon so what's the deal with tank platoons? How many tanks can you field for x points?
