Release dates?

Keshan

Mongoose
Hi.
In the forum matt recently announced that the first releases were being pushed back a week to february. Are the second wave of releases (I.e. British command etc.) due in early or late february? Will they also be pushed back a week posssibly into March.

Wow. A mini's product thats delayed from Mongoose. I'm shocked. Really.

Dude, no one has done models quite like this before - we have done well to get this far :)

I'm not just being a naysayer here, man.

I started up with SST. I got into it, and began to watch the delays. The poor sculpts. Can't complain about the rules. Or the Army books. Good stuff. But the old Metal Mini's and Plastic figs were late. All the time. WE're still waiting for the air support. But, of course, I digress. We're talking EVO here.

I'm giving mongoose Mini's one more chance. I've got 5 people waiting on this damn game. And you know what? I had 3 waiting on SST. Don't make me look like a fool like you did with SST? Thanks.

We still intend to do right by you when it comes to SST. . .

I'd say you download the basic rules, get some of Hiro's cards and do a few proxy games while you're waiting.

You'll be throwing away time, at the most, and those people who were waitng for the game can get a feel for it and decide wheter they wanna go for it or not.

Simple, cheap and efficent.

I have played the new rules. They aren't bad. Oh, Wait. Go look at the other thread where the mini's look like Crap compare to what was promised. And my issue was the lateness of EVERYTHING. Not the rules.

I'm with Snoogans here.

But my advice to him would be, if he likes the rules, stock the rule book along with some Black Scorpion figs or TAG figs or MoFo figs or DDD figs.

There are lots of other moderns out there. Play some games with the rules with the other figs. If you need a set for the store and don't think you can paint them send them to sri lanka or even better have a local painter paint them up. If you can paint them yourself then great. Play the game, push the figs. If you have someone locally that can come in and do a painting class for you even better.

Not to sound crazy here, but let's be honest... We are having delays, when the majority of armies have a whopping 2 choices until a month after launch. Snoogans mentioned the aforementioned late delays for SST. I am ready to drop some major coin on this game. 2 Choices. I can hear the smoke and mirrors across the board telling me about how these models will look amazing and since they are prepainted, I should be be all wide-eyed when i see them and give mongoose the benefit of the doubt... well, I am also paying $20+ for a 20mm tank, a piece of plastic, so it better look good. I expect it will look really good. I have been a lifetime gamer, and will happily support products that deserve it. But i look at a few things.

Depth of Rules. Quality of Product. Price. Choices.

However, disappoint me, and you will expect the worst press your company will have ever recieved.

20mm? BF:Evo is 28mm so why should some 20mm scale game have anything to do with this?

If you are paying $20+ for 20mm tank then is $25 for 28mm that bad thing? Bigger models tend to cost more. I know I get 10mm models lot cheaper than 28mm models.

nit pick

yeah im thinking of dropping some cash on this game though im worried it will face constant delays. And being an aussie (i have assurances from mat that this is not the case) but i alredy feel like im starting out on the back foot. I must admit i like the figures just plz get them out or dont tell us thery will be here one week and then change it. I would rather have no release dates and get it when its ready i cant stand all this teasing.

The 20mm models I have seen are definetly smaller than the BF:evo models...Much more accurate would have been to say 30mm models.

25$ for 28mm vechile is still cheaper than say GW tanks. So it's not like Mongoose is asking extremely high prices for the BF:evo tanks.

25$ for 20mm would be steep price but not for 28mm tank.

it was a rehtorical statment he was not attacking your beloved scale

anyhoo i tink the stuff is quite reasonably priced even if you want to repaint it. its hard getting everything the right scale . Even if you do its all over the place from different manufacturers. Least here well have our beloved MGP

Not an unfair comment. However, I am hoping to announce something very soon that should go some way to alleviating at least some of your concerns in this area.

Basically, it will be worth the wait :)

Because, legally speaking, nothing has been signed yet. I try to be as open as I possibly can, when I can, but there are some things it is wise to keep to oneself until the right time.

However, I just wanted to let you know that we are aware of your concerns and are currently working hard to alleviate them.
