Anyone know when this is, as I've seen 1 - 4 on Amazon (all 4 for £143 odds), but still no sign of the last.

They weren't sure if they were going to be renewed or not, so they shunted an episode from season 5 back to 4 which rounded off the series. It doesn't detract from season 5 though :)

I've had season 5 on disc for a while now. If you too have a multiregion DVD player you might like to check out http://www.dvdsoon.com/ and http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/ to get region 1 imports.

Oh! And don't forget The Movie Box Set. Oddly, the Region 2 version seems to lack In The Begining and The Gathering - but, IMO, that is a good thing as they are available seperately and I already own them :)

And then there is Crusade - which never got a chance to live up to its potential - and LOTR which ... well, it sucked. Lets hope TMOS (or whatever it is) is better, once it gets rewritten to cope with the sad loss of one very fine actor.

The Region 2 Box (UK) of Season 5 will be released on November 15th.

Regarding the movies:

WB Germany never cared to make a german version of the Special Edition of The Gathering, so I thought long about buying the UK version.

Now I hear the new US edition will have audio commentaries on ITB and TG, and in UK, these won´t see the light of day...

In Germany, there will be no box at all, they will just publish the three remaining movies separately (all with the same cover pic, imagine that!); they all will contain audio commentaries, so I could just buy TG and ITB as US versions and get anything I need, but this is a downright mess, isn´t it?

RaLPH,

If I were in your shoes and going to buy some US stuff I'd by the US 5 movie box set (ITB, The Gathering, TS, RoS and ActA) which is coming out and commentaries on all 5. I already own the UK pilot and ITB so I'll be getting the UK box set of the other 3 with commentaries.

The problem: I would like to get the german audio track, if not for me (I definitely prefer the original language and voices), then for some of our friends who like to watch their eyes out with our B5 DVDs, and for our daughter who will soon be old enough to enjoy B5 (and I guess she will).

Sigh. This would all be no problem whatsoever if WB Germany could finally hold their butts tight and do something regarding B5 right, for once.

Imagine, whenever WB puts out a german video-/DVD-edition, it´s not called" Babylon 5" over here, but "Spacecenter Babylon 5"!!! You wouldn´t even find it in some stores, because it was hidden in the "S" category!!!

The gathering is not where Kosh comes for the first time in B5 ? and sinclair is in trouble about it ?

If yes, it's no more, no less the first episode of the first season in france. the pilot for B5 .....

So maybe in other non english spoken countries it's the same ......

Yes. It was going to be the feature length season opener, but it took longer then expected for the network to come back and say "Yes, you can have a series". So season 1 started at the front end of 2258 rather then at whatever point in 2237 The Gathering takes place.

I received the 5 discs set yesterday from Amazon.ca and cannot wait to watch them all this week-end. The art on the box is so consistent with the seasons DVD sets ; it almost reuse the image of season 5 only with a blue overtone. Nit-picking, I know; I don't really mind of course. There's a nice word from JMS to honor the memory of Mr. Biggs.

My set should arrive over the next few days :) I opted for the Region 1 version so I could get the commentary on ALL the movies. I think it sucks that the R2 version only has 3 of them. It is actually cheaper to import the R1 than it is to buy the R2 - madness
