Recovering ships in a campaign

I understand that if a ship has lost it crew then the ship is lost if you dont win the scenario, but what happens in this situation:
A ship suffers a Speed 0 Critical and then suffers a Vital Engineering Critical. So now the ship cant move nor can it repair that no move critical. If the owning player of that ship loses the scenario do they lose that ship? It seems it would be a similar case as the ship being de-crewed (no way to tow the ship out off the battlefield since it is being held by the enemy)

I think it would depend on the scenario;

If it's an annihilation scenario, then the ship would probably be dead to end the scenario.

If the scenario is objective based or VP based and the game ended, then you keep any ships that survive the fight, criticals or no criticals. At that point it's assumed the folks holding the objective either escape with it, or are too busy to secure it to prevent your fleet-mates from towing your behind away from the fight.

There is no rule in the book that rules that a ship that cannot leave the battlefield is automatically destroyed at the end of a fight, even if their side loses.

personally i think if its my ships, i get to keep them...however, if it happens to be a whitestar thats sitting there uncrewed and all blowed up, then you lose it no questions asked.
