Railgun Barbettes?
Are they missing from 2.0?
Are they missing from 2.0?

Though railguns as machine gun analogues should be obvious.

I would think that a railgun version of a machine gun would also be roughly TL 10.
We have early railguns now so TL 8 or TL9 at the most.Jame Rowe said:I would think that a railgun version of a machine gun would also be roughly TL 10.

Reynard said:When I was researching the Battlestars for an old thread here, I realized their weapons were in fact machinegun-like railguns.

Yes, but we can imagine what they would be like by comparing Railgun and Plasma-pulse bays. Railguns are much worse.Solomani666 said:Railgun Barbettes?

Your BSG trivia skill does not fail you. I had forgotten about that scene. Thanks to the newer show being more recent in my memory sometimes i forget the differences in casual conversations about the show and default to the newer series since it's the one most people are talking about.AndrewW said:wbnc said:I imagine firing missiles at a Basestar/Raider is an exercise in futility the EW capability has to be pretty high.
The original Battlestars did have missiles (See the Pegasus firing missiles when she takes on two Basestars in Living Legend).
could be they never fired them at the raiders during attacks.Condottiere said:I think those missiles on the Pegasus were supposed to be closer to what we define as torpedoes.
TL 12 for railguns? Don't be ridiculous.AnotherDilbert said:Perhaps:
Barbette: Railgun: TL12, 2D, Auto 3, Short range, MCr 10.
Turret: Railgun: TL12, 1D, Auto 3, Short range, MCr 5.
Who would want them?
