Quick question about talents...

Hi all, loving this game so far, read the entire rulebook cover to cover and can't wait to get playing!

Just a quick question about talents/ skills:

I know that if you are increasing/ upgrading your own heroes the talent tree must be followed so always aquiring the first skill before moving onto the rest, this is easy for my brain to handle.

However, a lot of heroes are listed with skills/ talents that are several `branches` down the skill tree- do they automatically come with the preceding skills as well (as an upgraded hero of my own making would do) or do they get exactly the skill listed and none of the preceeding skills?

Its a good fun game.

We play that they only get talents as listed

Thank you. That was how I interpreted it, it's just that if you had a home made character with a skill further up the skill tree they would usually, by default, have the previous skills anyway.
