The Longbow mini has a morita slung across his back, but the Klendathu book states the morita is replaced by the longbow. Is there an official ruling on whether the trooper keeps his rifle or not?

No he doesn't keep his Morita, there was a comment made about the rule being amended in the (proposed at the time) Annual so he could keep it though.

Well it would be sad kinda.

Models tend to be WYSIWYG in most wargames. so having an officially incorrect model is iffy.

Assuming you don't have the common sense to model it on with a plastic Morita . . . . . . . . . .

except in this case it's the other way round - you'd have to file the morita off in order for it to be a "correct" mini.
