Question regarding the Glorantha MRQ material

I've not purchased any of the glorantha material since I run my own world, and my local game store hasn't ordered any of it, since no one in our area has any real interest in Glorantha, so I would like to pose a question to those who have seen the new books. . .

Does Cults of Glorantha, Magic of Glorantha, or any of the other books contain a significant number of spells (runemagic or otherwise) descriptions (I would assume that MoG does, of course), and non-Glorantha specific information that would be useful for inclusion in a non-Gloranthan campaign?

Thanks for any information.

Cults 1 has many new Divine Spells (and some Rune maybe?).

Cults 2 will have the rules for Shamanism/Spirit Magic which could be used outside of Glorantha if you want that type of magic system.

MoG is not out yet but will have Dragon Mysticism and God Learner Magic, which is Sorcery based. I don't know how much in the way of new spells it has bit its' author is kind of a board junkie and may well chime in.

There is a Runic Powers pdf on Drivethrough that has more information on the Runes. It has expanded Rune Powers that can be gained when integrating runes as well as more flavor text on each rune (and some killer art). No actual spells, but nice if you use a lot of Rune Magic.

Lastly the Players Guide to Glorantha details Common Magic, the everyday magic used by farmers, craftsmen, etc. Not really useful to characters for killing things and taking their stuff, but a big part of the flavor for Glorantha that could probably be used in a world where magic is as common as it is in the big G.

Thanks Rurik

I Downloaded S&P this morning and have printed out the handful of new rune spells from it, they will very likely make their way into my home campaign.

I'll have to make a trip to one of my local stores competitors and peruse CoG1 and see if what is in it will be worth getting (and have my guy order it of course :D )

CoG2 sounds great, because I've been working on some shamanism rules for my setting over the past couple of days. I'll have to see about that one.

Appreciate the info.

I spewed some of my thoughts on revising spirit combat on this board here if you are interested. I have had some other thoughts on the subject of projecting to the spirit plane and spirit related spells if you ever want to compare notes. Honestly though I have shelved these thoughts until seeing what Cults 2 has to offer.
