Question - Natural Healing

Pg. 191, Healing, 2E Rulebook.

The part about Natural Healing. It's not specifically stated, but the inference I get from context in this paragraph and in other sources is that "per day of rest" mentioned to get 3 + Con Mod + lvl hit points back really refers to 8 hours of sleep.

Is this how you read it?

And, if you stay in bed for a complete 24 hours, you recover double that amount.

I need to find the other sources, but they seem to refer to the hit points being restored the next morning--which is why I'm thinking that a good 8 hours of sleep will get the points restored.

Your take on this?





EDIT: From the D&D SRD, it looks like I have the correct take on it, as it says...

Natural Healing
With a full night’s rest (8 hours of sleep or more), you recover 1 hit point per character level. Any significant interruption during your rest prevents you from healing that night.

If you undergo complete bed rest for an entire day and night, you recover twice your character level in hit points.

Yes, pretty much. There's the caveat that you're supposed to engage only in "light activity" during the days, i.e. no forced marches, no fighting, no other physical strain, but you can travel normally. That's also written somewhere.

Besides, we agreed in our group that orgies and parties count as "full bed rest" for purposes of natural healing. ^^

Yeah. It technically says that its per day of rest. A day of rest being, as Clovenhoof stated above, a full day of nothing strenuous, and a full nights rest.
I however usually just give it to them if they got a full nights rest, even if they got into a fight that day. The games brutal enough as it is.
