question about US battleship

Hi!

I'm a new french player and I have a question about US battleships: Why do they have a Target factor of 5+. This combined with radar make a sensible différence with japaneese ships.

Other question The battlecruiser class KONGO is weaker than a lot of other battleship of this catégory. Should she be classed as raid??

Target number is based on the size of the ship. Some older US battleships are sufficiently small to warrant a 5+. You'll find the newer ones are 4+s.

The Kongo is way to powerful to be a Raid level ship. IIRC its pretty comparable to the Hood, isn't it?

Its just that some battleships didn't make the cut for War level. . . so they're going to be towards the top end of the battle level ships.
