Question about obscure bit of Gloranthan Lore

As a long time fan of Glorantha I am not as well versed as many, I am certainly no Simon, or even a Jeff. There is a passage in Cults that has tweaked my interest. Specifically from the Barntar Orlanthson description:

"When the Stone People turned the soil to rock, he plowed it back into good earth."

Is this referring to a specific event and are the Stone People the Mostali or something else completely?

This is referring to a mythological event, which is normally associated with the Mostali wars against the Orlanthi (and everyone else). However, I have heard one version of the myth (I think in Tarsh or Esrolia) which associated it with Tekakos the Stone Mover (who ultimately destroyed Maran Gor) and another version which associated it with Vestkarthen the Volcano (who is usually associated with a malign version of Lodril).

Are there any specific references to sources? Is it covered in HeroWars/Quest books or older Fanzines?

Thanks

Some bit of it is in Storm Tribe. Some more of it might make it into the Orlanthi Unfinished Work Greg and I are planning to release next year.

Hmm? I drew inspiriation from Gods of Glorantha, Storm Tribe, Thunder Rebels, Enclosure 1 & 2, some traffic on the various Gloranthan lists, Greg's comments on various subjects, and aways, always, always, the various Cults books compiled together as the Cults Compendium. The uninished works were very useful for the various Pelorian, Malkioni, and Eastern faiths.

Always, the key thing to remmber about writing in Glorantha is that the place is old and well documented. Its hard to do anything totally new. That said, quite a bit of the book came from my own brain. Nyah.
