Promoting Conventions on this Forum

In anticipation of bigger things to come, and to add some order and structure, would it be possible to add a “Conventions and Media” Topic under [Mongoose News and Views] or [Off Topic]? Users could add a new thread for conventions where Traveller is being run, When and Where and who’s attending, will Studio 2 be there, etc.. Members could also post when they see Seth Skorkowsky or another Tuber drops a review of a Traveller product. Maybe also links to the latest Freelance Trader? @FreeTrav But please not a new thread for weekly notifications each episode of your live play on youtube.

I have seen (and am guilty of) multiple posts for TravellerCon USA scattered through the Forum. I think it would be good to have one place to locate this in anticipation of further growth in this segment.

That's great to see. Shame I'll just be returning from a long holiday vacation and probably can't swing the time off and the drive up.

All hail Eneri's Cantina, what a hoot of an adventure to play though I suppose they'll take an axe to it to make it fit a 4 hour session. As written it is more of a mini campaign and gets into some pretty heavy role-playing in its mid to late parts. For that I thought it was one of the best recent adventures Mongoose has done. Definitely my favorite. That thing oozed creativity and variety.

For clarification, I am not hosting any of the games. I have until midnight when they cut off submissions to decide if I want to apply to host.

I think this is an excellent idea - having a single place where these announcements can be found would potentially allow more people to see - and watch for - future Cons, wherever situate. As it is, they can end up scattered across several subsections and spotting them would be "hit or miss" unless someone watches everything (which is probably more than most people actually have time for...).

I think this is the crux of having a worthwhile Pinned Post for Conventions.

It needs to be moderated so that one or two people can post to the thread for announcements. That way when someone discovers the forums or wants to make the one post about their convention they give the information about the event to those 'moderators' and they post it.

It can keep the thread neat and clean, just about posting the details of an event. Discussion of it can have its own threads if people feel the need.

I would volunteer @FreeTrav and @DigrizJB as the two most plugged into convention events. :)
