Project Skinnie - Mr evils back (finished pics page 4)

ok well im back into the hobby after my summer of so lets hit the floor running.

skinnies

im gonna try build a venerable skinnie army !!

so as always do the troops first then finish the project of with the special bits

this is where i am after one night of painting

basicly ive used quartering as a form of camoflage to help break up their outline, its a bit of a new spin on it so they may look odd, but thats realy the point ,, there alien and not stupid and not rejects from flash gorden, i like my scfi to be gritty not sparkly

any way il try keep you upto dat on this project as i go along, ive also got a second prject starting soon, with a russian feel to it for SST

Very, very nice. I like the whole shiney things, and the quartering is very neat. Other than that, I can only state the obvious: excellent!
Is this job just for the venerables or the enitre army?

ive got another box on the way in the post and some mech warrior figs that i will be using for my venerable maruader conversions.

il probably put a venerable on the front and his back pack on the rear of the walker, im gonan keep conversion minimal and just use a repaint to give it the right feel. i have 4 on order so i cna make 4 in total. i may use a normal plastic skinie as the pilot, but i think that may detract from the army feel a bit.

any way more updates soon i hope,, postman dependant

i have to agree, the color scheme makes them look a lot less goofy.
I still don't like them, but i stop going into a berserker rage whenever i see them :wink:

Those are nice. And I think the Venerables are some of the finer Skinny modesl out there, suffering only from a lack of enclosed head, thereby forcing them to brathe non-methane atmospheres and resulting in their early game demise. I would love to see your Marauder conversion when it is done, I built mine from an old GW Wraithlord. BTW, using a Venerable on the front themes the army far bettert han using a Raider.

well in my opinion the best skinnie miniature around, and the only one I would even consider buying are the skinnie soldiers, these guys look neat.

i was gonna use the skinie guard or soildier heads on my venerables but the cost put me of

ok here is the idea guys

all ive done is use a little white tac to fix the plates into position for photograph, if i do this properly il use pva glue as it dryes clear

the idea is to sorta make the venerables more alien looking and to also represent maybe the harmonic shield !

so what you gys recon ?

Nice, unfortunately harmonic shields are meant to surround the model completely, but still, that looks cool.
I like the scheme you have done, almost enough to repaint mine.

Im seriously thinking about the raiders though, all that bad highlighting and mid-green .

Ok, I'll wait until the pre-paints come out (supposed resculpts) then repaint those.

Yeah, but this is sci-fi and you can use large doses of PSB, so maybe the harmonic shield only shows part of it in the visible spectrum and the rest is invisible, perchance? :wink:

They look good Mr Evil, and that quartering thing will help out a bunch when any captured Skinnies get "drawn and quartered" :wink: . Nothing like having instructions painted on the armor! Oh yeah, and I'm just cutting off -er pulling your leg on that. The scheme looks nicely subdued. Good work.

well i have a choice i can ave harmonic sheilds on 3units of skinnies or an aditiona venerable maruader !!!!! grrrrr

think il go for the maruader as it will draw enouth fore to make up for loss of harmonic shelds on the troopers i hope !!!!
