Please lock threads instead of deleating them

This is a call for moderation and reason.

It's your site, so you moderate it as you wish. Disappearing threads altogether is still very jarring, and gives a nasty signal. It also makes it very hard to figure out what caused the disappearanse.

Please consider the alternative of posting something in the lines of: "This thread has been locked because..." and locking the thread. You can also censor individual posts from such a thread (or othervice), preferably in such a way that we can see what caused the censoring.

Thank you for reading this,

I agree with this, I moderate a few forums, and this is the method we use, we lock the threads with an Explanation. If there is something in a specific message you don't want users to read, you could edit the original post with an explanation of post edited by moderator.

Do we know who the Deleted_Account user used to be?

EDIT: I know it can't be trif - he is never so easily discouraged.

And he'd only made 26 posts when he left - both Trif and "Banned Beatle" are over 10 times that...

Ahh. I believe it was Yakk.

He seemed generally a helpful guy.

Either way, farewell and good luck in the afterlife.

See, I know you like the Idea of capping skills at 100, but you yourself are one of the best arguments for very high skills.

I figure your Resilience has got to be around 150% or so.
