Players Guide to Glorantha Pushed Back Until Freaking April

Not March, mind you, but April. I am rather bummed - I really wanted Common Magic to make the background mechanics 'complete'. I planned on throwing some into something I have been working on to make it complete. Plus, y'know, some player background stuff would be nice (like how to roll up Gloranthan characters and minor stuff like that).

Unless the reason for the hold up is that the book is being converted to color - in which case all is forgiven. Ditto if in-comprehensible rules are being fixed.

Also of note is that the Jrustela book is off the upcoming releases list.

On the Lankhmar front Nehwon is also pushed back until April. Swords Against Sorcery is still listed as a March release - even though it is designed as a continuation of the Scenario in Nehwon

Maybe it's because DBC has gone.

I'm pretty sure Players Guide is all Bryan Steeles baby.

I suspect it may be because he does not have a suitable mug yet. Just in case.

96 pages, no scenarios. I'm loathe to talk about content until it's all been edited and approved, but the basic outline is:
History of Jrustela
Gazetteer of Jrustela
Magic of Jrustela (with special emphasis on God Learner sorcery, including descriptions and rules for their myth-altering techniques)
Religion of Jrustela
Trade in Jrustela
Politics in Jrustela

I'm pretty sure Players Guide is all Bryan Steeles baby

And what a painful birth it was, too! :)

Just kidding, I know the book is all done in format and the like...just looks like there are some printing speedbumps to get over. I'm sure it will be around soon enough...

crosses fingers

Cheers,
Bry

Folk Magic (or Common Magic) is the magic of everyday people. The minor spells the women use to aid in their weaving, or the farmer uses to aid in the plowing, etc. It is of little use to the adventurer in most game play activities, but a big part of the flavor of the world, where magic is used by everybody.

Yeah, I know that. That's why I'm waiting for it. I run a "farmers" game and I'm very busy writing some fan material. I'd really like to see what folk magic will be. Is it going to be powered down rune magic without runes, spirit magic or something else? Improvising affinities like in Heroquest maybe?
