The Personal Automedic cost Cr15000 but needs to be restocked and recharged for Cr500 each 4 weeks. This recharge/restock cost comes out to approximately Cr6000-Cr6500 per year (depending on how you keep time). Yet for one tech level higher, I can get a Personal Mediscanner for Cr1000 and a shot of Panaceas for Cr200, and not have to worry about the recharge/restock cost. Or get the get the TL12 Medikit and for Cr5000 with the Personal Mediscanner and again not have to worry about recharging/restocking cost. Why is the Automedic seem to be the only medical device that needs to be restocked/recharged for a fee? If you do not run into any foreign diseases or poisons, what are you restocking? If the chemicals have a expiration date, then why is none of the other medical devices that have drugs or the drugs themselves not having an expiration date? I am just trying to understand the reasoning for this recharge/restock fee for this one device. I know that the automedic is automatic and the others require a Medic skill roll but that still does not explain why the Medikit or a first aid kit would not need to be restocked or recharged as well, especially if they get used.
