A failed brown dwarf star was discovered, composed of nearly 99.99% helium and hydrogen. While it's probably too massive and gravitationally strong to skim, the idea makes for an interesting concept - just how much faster would it be to skim pure hydrogen than the normal mix of gases? The universe is an interesting place!
Now if we only had REAL jump drives.... sigh. Maybe in a century or three. As an aside... who knew there where Chinese guys working at the Canary Islands Institute of Astrophysics? Who knew the Canary Islands HAD an Institute of anything???
