Does anyone have any idea when the older threads were purged?
Im hoping I'll still be able to access them via the waybackmachine or something like that, seems a shame to lose all records of what used to be a pretty active forum.

A good question Max. I would also like to know if any of those old threads are still accessable somewhere.

The way back machine was a bit of a failure the forums dont seem to have been archived...
Kinda sucks, tbh... Although I suppose the skinnies can get a fresh start this way

Ha! I think you've hit on something Max! Here I was thinking MGP was just clearing house for bandwidth/storage purposes, but now I think it's some sort of Orwellian conspiracy to hide the game's true origins!

I just checked my own profile and clicked the "View all posts by..." button and that actually took me to all of my older posts, and as far as I can tell the threads were still fully intact. Of course, that's only good for the threads you've actually posted in...

Just checked on mine, and Im definatly missing lots of stuff, oldest post I have besides polls is july 2006 some time according to the system.
:?
Dang it all

Yeah, it looks like our Orwellian conspiracy may actually have come to fruition!

It's a shame though. I realize that I should probably not be so bumbed about this but there was some seriously good stuff in those older threads. I've had my home page set to MGP ever since day one of SST and I've met and had conversations with a lot of really great people in that time. It's a shame to lose so much of that.
Oh well. Care to see which one of us gets the boot first (it can't be far behind)? :?

Is there an available archive for the old posts? I'm new and tried to go back through the older posts to get up to speed, but they didn't go back that far. Any of the site admins care to reply?

Actually, that might be a malfunction of the phpbb script. On our local phpbb forum we had a similar problem - older threads without polls simply disappeared overnight, and nobody knows why. We assumed it was mishap during the reorganisation of the whole website...
