Oh Those Nemedians (Pits Where Mad Things Drum)

Mongoose
Those Nemedians never seem to catch a break, do they? Incompetent kings, kidnapped princesses, lost magical soul gems...

Nevertheless this is my favourite adventure by far by Vincent Darlage. I love it. From the moment I started reading it I was hooked. A gloomy wilderness? Oh yeah. Fleeing princess? Yes indeed. Hats off to Vincent for not even bothering to bend to political correctness--if fleeing girls in Conan's world flee wearing little more than belts and wisps of silk, then they flee thus attired. Ah, but this princess is in disguise, and has a magic amulet and a sister to rescue! Oh yes indeed! And there's a truly crazy sorceror involved! Better still! And undead! Can we say Hell Yeah?

What's even better is I don't even have to think about how to get my pcs into such an area. Can we say 'border war complications'? Just need to stick them on patrol. Currently they are commanding a small outfit of mercenary scouts for their patron who is in command of the border army.

I must second you all the way through to the 'Hell Yeah' and then some. Quite nice. I seem to be having trouble locating the stats on the princess however. Am I missing them, or are they missing?

I cut the stats for the princess because a) I needed to shave some length off the article, b) they didn't seem necessary and c) I figured it might be better for people to stat up the princess appropriately for their own games (I'd go with some combination of noble, temptress and scholar, personally, but tastes vary).

That having been said, Vincent did provide stats for the princess. Here they are, chopped straight out of the original document:

I actually don't know what level it's for...though I've found it's hard to tell with Conan adventures.

Thanks for posting the princess' stats btw.

I am going to chime in here as well and say that I think this is one the best adventures for Conan I have seen come out in a long time!

If Mongoose keeps publishing adventures like this in S&P, they have me hooked. :)
