I had a quick look around the site and could not find it. I guess nobody else noticed. Shame really. You may need to pm someone official, as it may be gone, or may have to check Signs and Portents.

ya i havent gotten around to playing a game yet cause im kinda lost with so many othere games im trying to start, but i always loved looking at the weekly scenearios it had good ideas and i liked the pictures as well. :D ........ just wondering is SST going down the tubes cause all ive been herein is depressing comments and rumers what is really going on?

Basically, SST is getting revamped. Current models will stop being produced for a while, with a re-release of the game planned for sometime next year. The game itself will be getting a facelift, with a few things changed and others clarified. The rerelease will feature four (possibly five) factions--Humans, Arachnids, Skinnies, Forth, and maybe the Coven. New miniatures will be produced, focusing on better sculpts and lots of poses in metal and some larger resin/metal kits. Mongoose will put a lot of emphasis on background material this time around, as well.

That's pretty much it.

k so basicaly i should save up my money and dont start until it comes out new? .....im guessing they decided not to do pre paints tho right? and also i got a box of cap troops and it seems to not fuse when i put plastic glue in between parts and the spray primer comes off esily, is the plastic mongoose anything different from GW (sry yes i play LOTR but plan to branch off to newer and better things :D) i am just wondering.

As with all plastics, wash them first in soap/detergent and water to get the mold release agent off.

The hard plastic mongoose use is immune to a couple of the chemical bond style glues. Try super glue, the gel type is particularly easy to control.

You can start now. Not all of them are being replaced, most are just being paused while they change packaging. They will still be compatible after the restart. THe list is here:

prepaints - on hold till late 2009-2010. There were too many QC probs & issues with the factory on the Battlefield Evolution minis to continue with the SST versions.

Paladin's on it. There's no reason not to start playing now. The new rules will be very similar, and the minis will remain the same or compatible. Give yourself a leg up on the guys who opt to come in after the re-release, and awe them with your battlefield prowess :D

true and thanks for the info :D but christmas is coming soon and then after the new year there will be no more buying so what is the pint when you wont get much to play with befor they put everything away? im just wondering cuase ive been so lost because of the new things happening and all.

The starter box goes a long way. Add a tanker and you've got a solid force for a few games. Assembly takes some time, so the sooner you get going the better.

I'm a Heinlein fan and a veteran of 3 decades of gaming ... SST wasn't very well known in my old neighborhood, and I just started to dabble in this game to discover all the challenges of collecting and readying the figs but I do like the game a lot so I'm really hoping things will pick up by summer '08 !

sounds like someone needs to join the MI and start recruiting a gaming group. ;)
