Offices, Hotels, and Air Ports Oh My!

I have been considering making some inside urban areas, but as I thought about it I had some Issues.

1. Stuff: Things like couches, tables and the like.
Should I use a few,
None,
Or Fully Furnish

2. How much detail is needed?

3. Multi Story or Each floor done by it self,
Multi is better for play, but much harder to make.

Any other ideas, tips, or info is much thanked.

Thanks
Lee

I think that in SST they had a rule that LOS within a building was D6", to simulate the natural cover (tables, chairs etc) that would be available within. If you used this rule then you would not have to bother with any interior dressing - though I imagine it would look great!!

id have to say leave it out or make it removable, as if you had a 1meter wide disc stuck to your feet youd have trouble getting around.

ive done a few tables in my time and the furnature doesnt enhance the game just hunders it and makes some buildings unusable.

ame with street furnature, it looks great but due to mini cohesion rules it has no purpose for cover or tactics, your better of with a burnt out car or some thing you can hide 50% plus of unit behind.

not saying im right, but just my opinion.

keep it simple.

That's really what I am looking for is opinions and ideas.

One site said put most against the walls.

So with I have heard here and read, I am thinking.

Have most detail on the walls and just a few movable peices in the rooms.

Does that sound like a plan?

Now what first, perhaps a hotel....

id say if it was a warzone most furnature would have been looted !!!

just put some posters on the walls or wraping paper as wall paper, that will be enough i recon.

simplify it as much as you can and think function first no point in lavish interior in a building people cant use fully to hide a unit with bases.

The following can be used indoor or out to get the most from them:
fountains
large plant fixtures or flower beds
statues with large wide pedestals
Soda machines
Newspaper machines
Bays of telephones
Cargo crates & misc box piles
Baggage cars for airports
Benches - at least for obscurement.

stuff the desks have a butch at this.....

Starting with a strip club.

Now I am laughing again at a line from the John Ringo novel Ghost: "like mounting an op in a titty bar"

For warzone interiors all you need is the wallpaper, etc. and some piles of unidentifiable garbage (w/lots of sheet paper) for the corners, maybe a few shoes (removed from old minis) in the piles. Everything modern becomes detrius under normal use much less combat. I love the soda machine thing, actually I've got a couple dumpsters that make great adjustable cover. My misguided sense of realism says that if it might actually stop a bullet it's worth having on the table with the BFE rules.

For non/semi-warzone areas you can make vaguely furniture shaped pieces out of foam and then cover them with tissue then brush on the traditional white glue/water/drop of soap mix to make them look like covered furniture for folks that were smart enough to get out just in time.
