NPC Records

Hmm, I would have thought that an easy request. Surely you guys dont just list an NPC's stats on a piece of notebook paper somewhere. There has to be a form of some kind available that would make creating a handful of NPCs for an encounter a little more organized?

If you mean 1 page/multiple characters, you can try a mass combat/unit combat record sheet. IIRC, Free Companies may have something like this. The Slaine RPG definitely does. I also make use of Cry Havoc and Fields of Blood.

What Im looking for is a template to make the recording of a group of soldiers or a band of picts a bit easier for example. Something to help jog the memory as you jot down their stats.

Similarly an individualized NPC record with a bit more detail to allow you to record a more important NPC without actually having to fill out a complete player character form.

Vincent Darlage may an excellent series of documents with write-ups for each character class for each level (except scholar, since they are so varied), which I use on a regular basis in my games. Searching his name might be difficult to find it, but give it a try, or else he may repost it (we discussed it again a few months ago, and I asked him to add scholars even without spells/equipment, since just the basic stats would still be useful).

Go to the Conan page at Mongoose (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/home/series.php?qsSeries=7) and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the NPC Sheets, it'll open a multi page doc where each sheet has stats for class/race statted from levels 1 - 20.

It seems Mayhem's blank NPC cards are no longer active, I'll keep looking though to see what else I can find.

I looked at the NPC sheets at the location Bregales pointed out. I have only looked at the barbarians at the moment, but it appears the parry and dodge scores are wrong.

Is this because these sheets are for the Pre-Atlantean game? If so, does anyone know if there are up-to-date sheets available?

Thanks

What specifically appears wrong? Parry looks okay, maybe Dodge might be a point higher than it should be, based on the 14 Dex?

Looking at the Cimmerian Barbarian, for example, at 2nd level he should have:

Parry 13 - +0 class bonus + 3 Str bonus - but on the sheet he has 14
Dodge 13 - +1 class bonus + 2 dex - but on the sheet he has 12

At 8th level the barbarian should have:

Parry 17 - +3 class bonus + 4 Str bonus - but on the sheet he has 21
Dodge 18 - +6 class bonus + 2 dex bonus - but on the sheet he has 15

At 20th level the barbarian should have:

Parry 24 - +7 class bonus +7 str bonus - but on the sheet has 33
Dodge 29 - +15 class bonus and +4 dex bonus - but on the sheet has 21

I have also glanced through the soldiers sheets and they also seem to be wrong.

I'm not sure whether I am doing something wrong here or I have old outdated sheets or the sheets are just plain wrong.

Those sheets were made with playtest rules; certain changes I was unaware of came about with the first edition rules, and even more with the Atlantean Edition.

Any chance of some updates? Or if you would send me the underlying files, I'd do it.

Thanks Vincent for letting me know. I didn't think i was doing anything wrong when working out parry and Dodge.

I will have a look through the sheets and double check them before I use them.

I probably won't do any updates due to my writing schedule. PM me your email address and I can send you the Excel worksheets.
