Newbie needs opinions

Hey all, I'm looking to start a new RPG, and was wondering what this one's like...

How easy are the rules to understand?

What's the information like in the book?

Is the game itself any good (totally different to what are the rules like) ?

I'd be greatful for any comments or opinions you guys would like to make.

Standard d20 base, you'll need a PHB (D&D or Mongoose Pocket PHB) if you don't already have one. If you do already have one, you're more than halfway there already
Vehicle rules are nicely done.

What's the information like in the book?

I'll put it this way, the core book contains more than the complete set of books the previous license-holder brought out

Is the game itself any good (totally different to what are the rules like) ?

Oh hell yeah, if you'll excuse the colloquialism

Once you add in the background material from the other books, you've pretty much got the most comprehensive B5 encyclopedia in print. It's not just rules and background setting, either. There's a lot of attention paid to *how* to use that information.

There's also enough information to set your game at just about any point that's been mentioned in the show. The latest sourcebook, The Rangers, includes a lot of information on playing in Valen's era, and a few points between then and "now" too.
