new player comming through

hey im seth and hopefully ill be a new player soon but i just want to know the ups and downs for the cap troopers and the LAMI i just cant figure which ones i want.and also is there anybody in the maryland area possibly howard county that plays sst that i may play with cause i dont want to be forced to play my fam every time you know.

Welcome to the Forums and yes there should be some members here that are in your area. Also, make sure to check out any FLGS (Friendly Local Gaming Store) that might be within reach as well.

I can tell you about the LAMI:

Pro's:

-lots and lots of "men" (read: cannon/claw/acid/whatever fodder)
-above point means LOTS of moritas (still hitting on the same as a CAP -trooper)
-deployment of nukes with reckless abandon
-the "Nukes Down Bug Holes" special rule
-cheap(ish) squad leaders
-and when i say lots, i mean LOTS of nukes.
-oh, and they're Uber cheap (value 10!)
-Fed Net reporters
-Medics as a basic squad upgrade
-lots of squads in one area = one HELL of a lot of reaction fire...
-EVERYONE has a morita + upgrade weapons

Cons

-only 3" fire zone on the moritas
-3+ hit
-5+ kill
-longbow RL's are a ready weapon
-D6-1 in combat
-no M8 squad leaders
-El Tee's are about as good as a basic M1A4 trooper
-no M1A4 power suits.


the odds are stacked agaist the little guys on paper, but when a 20 strong warrior swarm gets shot to peices by 3 squads using 2 shoot actions, the look on your opponents face is PRICELESS.

and i've found that sometimes, 100+ men is sometimes too many to kill...
