NEW INFERNUM QUESTIONS

Hi!

I have some INFERNUM queries, please answer 'em, thanks!

1. About he Rationing Blood Chain Mutation (page 47): let's say, for instance, that a Carthenay demon gets a 50 damage hit & uses the power that turn - I'm assuming he can still suffer more damage AFTER initianting the power can't he? If they damage him again, would the new damage "stack" until the rationing process for that particular wound finishes (then all of it "kicking in" at the same time), OR can't he be harmed again (the new damages don't count) until the rationing procedure's finished?

2. I was wondering why a Free City Demon would start with a Covenant Rating - don't they have ways of breaking Covenants (ie: should be able to start at zero Covenant strenght)?

3. Just to clarify & confirm: If a Demon's unallied or mercenary it doesn't get any extra feats but it's own (just 1 feat (automatic), no House feat's "replacements"), or it gets "normal D20-level progression" feats?

4. About a Covenant's Strength: Is this number from just ONE covenant of the according level, or could it be said to be from several smaller covenants (eg. A Covenant Level 10 is just a that, one big level 10 contract; or could it be one level 5, another 4, & another one level 1)?

A comment on the Bori: I think Howard would've been proud - after all, even in hell his Hyborian's are still fightin' badasses (he did use the term "Hell" a lot too)!

Thanks

1. The demon takes damage as normal. Rationing Blood doesn't have any effect on other wounds, just the one you rationed. Let's say a demon gets hit for 50 damage, and chooses to pay it over 5 rounds. He takes 25 damage immediately, and five damage per round thereafter for five rounds, then an interest payment of anothe 5 damage.

If he gets hit in round 2 for ten points of damage from another attack, then he takes a total of 15 points of damage in round 2 (10 from the new attack, 5 from the Rationed wound).

Basically, it only affects one wound and has no other protective abilities.

2. Free City Covenants don't break immediately- you've got to spend the better part of a year and a day inside a Free City to dissolve all your Covenants. It's assumed that Free City characters haven't been part of the revolution that long to break their bonds (you could certainly change that if you want).

The covenant would be owed either to the demon's old master, or to a Free City officer who's keeping an eye on the new recruits.

3. No bonus feats from House if you haven't got one, no.

4. It's up to the GM.

And cheers for the Bori comment! :)
